What is the card game Mindi?
Mindi (also known as Mendi, Mendikot, or Mendi Coat) is a classic trick-taking partnership card game widely played in India. It uses a standard 52-card deck and is played by 4 players split into two opposing teams. The primary objective is to win tricks that contain the Tens (called Mindis).
How do you win in Mendi Coat?
To win a game of Mendi Coat, your team must capture more Tens (10s) than the opposing team. Since there are 4 Tens in a deck, securing 3 or 4 Tens wins the round. If the Tens are split 2-2, a tie-breaker rule applies, where the team that won the trick containing the highest-ranked winning card wins.
What is the difference between Mindi and Dehla Pakad?
They are the same game. 'Dehla Pakad' literally means 'catch the Tens' (dehla = ten), which is exactly the objective of Mindi and Mendikot: win the tricks containing the four Tens for your partnership. Is Mindi World free to play?

Can I create private rooms to play Mendi with friends?
Yes, Mindi World allows you to easily create custom private tables and invite your friends or family members using a shareable invite link or code. You can play together from anywhere in the world.
Is Mindi a game of skill or gambling?
Mindi is a game of skill, not gambling. Winning depends on card counting, trump management, partnership signalling, and tactical decisions — not on staking money on chance. Mindi World is played with in-game coins for fun and involves no real-money betting or cash prizes.
What is the difference between Mindi and Rummy?
They are different families of card game. Rummy is about melding cards into sets and sequences in your own hand. Mindi is a trick-taking partnership game where two teams compete to win tricks containing the four Tens. Mindi is played 2-vs-2 with a partner, while Rummy is usually every player for themselves.
How many players are needed to play Mindi?
The classic game is played by exactly 4 players in two partnerships of two, with teammates sitting opposite each other. Some regional tables adapt it for 6 players using two decks, but 4-player Mindi is the standard format. See our Mindi Variants guide for details.
What do Katte and Hukum mean in Mindi?
Katte (or Cut) is a trump mode where the trump suit is revealed mid-hand instead of being fixed at the start. Hukum is another word for the trump suit — the commanding suit that beats the three normal suits. You can find these and more terms explained in our Mindi Glossary.
